Water to Wine Catering stands as an inspirational success story in defiance of those who say you shouldn’t chase your dreams during an economic upheaval. Brad and Ellen Nicholson started Water to Wine Catering to help with events for their local church. When the floods hit Martinsville, Brad and Ellen rushed to help, with remarkable self-sacrifice.
It would be inappropriate to say any business benefited from the flood. Rather, their acts of service brought them the goodwill of a grateful community, and positioned them to succeed or fail based on how they handled the opportunities that opened up to them.
“I was a corporate chef for Jug’s Catering for about 14 years,” Brad recalled. “My wife and I worked together much of that time. We left the business about ten years ago, but we always wanted to return to it for ourselves.”
